Sheep on the loose in Okehampton

"There will be baaaaarhing in Okehampton tomorrow Friday 30th November as 32 named knitted sheep escape from 'All Saints Parish Church' into shops and businesses in the town. They need to be identified before Christmas Eve so that they can all safely be back at the Parish Church in time for the Crib Service on Christmas Eve. To help with this there is a booklet which children, of all ages ,can collect wherever they see a sheep or from 'Toast' Coffee Shop in Market Street where they can also leave their completed forms.

The booklet also tells the story of the Nativity - the Birth of Jesus and explains the role of the shepherds and invites everyone to the Crib Service. The sheep are being gathered in at St James Chapel in the centre of Okehampton at lunch time on Christmas Eve - we hope none will have been lost!"
